Two or three nights ago, I had a very clear dream where a demon kept saying the words "devil magic, devil magic..." and then I woke up.
I probably prayed about this after the dream (I can't remember, but I'm pretty vigilant about praying about all these dreams) and today I read a passage in my email, forwarded from another believer, on another topic.
I've read the following passage from Daniel before, but today it stands out to me as probably relating to the words "devil magic" repeated in my dream the other night...

I've read the following passage from Daniel before, but today it stands out to me as probably relating to the words "devil magic" repeated in my dream the other night...
Dan. 8:23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce
countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall
prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify
himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
When I read this passage now, the words "understanding dark sentences" suddenly sounds a lot like "devil magic"...
We know that God allowed the wicked access to "sorcery" in the Old Testament. "Dark sentences" as used in Daniel 8:23 could relate to the figure commonly known as the Anti-Christ (the 8th king from Rev. 17 and the "little horn" from Daniel) as using Old Testament sorcery on a much bigger level. And it may not just be the Anti-Christ who's allowed to have these kind of powers... it may include people in his army (the army of the beast kingdom from Revelation).
Look at this passage from Revelation as further evidence:
Revelation 13:11-18 - Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
