Just went to Taco Bell & got a $5 box lunch (even comes with a drink) ... thought I'd try the crunchy one. It will fill you up. Who needs those high dollar all-you-can-eat buffets? But that's not what I came to talk about. The Spirit of God has been moving so got my salt shaker & flashlight....and hope to sprinkle some salt and shine some light in all of this darkness.
I am trying to touch on the main elements that are necessary here. Was just talking to someone yesterday about the only instittution seemingly left now (that is worth anything) is the true family! Those who care about each other and have special times together. For those who may be alone and have no family, I see not why they can't form some friendships with other good caring people and make something of it. "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am among you"! In this time when governments are coming apart.....the churches are having problems....that only leaves the family. Keep in mind that a great shaking is coming to the church this year (2012).....but we can talk about that in another post. At some point a great shaking is also coming to the governments, and that will be something, let me assure you. I can't let up here as long as God is moving me, but even I need some rest occasionally!
I mentioned the Holy Bible in the last post here. Just for a quick sweep.....the key figure in Genesis is Noah.....in Exodus, Moses...in the Kings, David....and in the New Testament, of course Jesus. It is important to know the whole Bible, yet is also important to properly understand and to rightly divide it. Let's take Leviticus as an example. One may think, this is boring and has nothing to do with me. Well, first realize that this was basically a handbook for the Levites. And when you pass through it, you will find some important truths mingled in that are set for all time. Another thing is that if you want to be able to understand Hebrews in the NT, you must have a knowledge of Leviticus in the OT. How difficult worship (coming to God) was in Leviticus, but how easy Jesus has made it now. Leviticus may seem irrelevant and even obsolete, but it is necessary.
From Moses, we see that even children must be taught right from wrong. They must know the difference between what's white & what's black. So to us parents...are we getting that? Do we realize that we are to set an example as well? Our children need some truth to stand on when they grow up, but if they don't have it, they could even be angry with us.
From David we should see that we can be forgiven for sin if we are repentant, but there very well can be consequences and scars. He heals the wound but leaves the scar!
From Noah.....when we are in Christ, we are in the ark. Those not in Christ are still building towers out there which God is continuosly having to tear down. In Christ you are on the rock.....outside of Christ is in the sand!
I said all this because the Word of God and the Spirit of God is the foundation for your home (family). The blood of Jesus not only washes away sin - it can make one whole again! The blood on your doorposts (spiritually) protects your home....and holy angels play a role as well.
I have studied the word faith movement so commonly taught over the air waves today. Anyone who studies Proverbs and other scriptures can see that words have power. But beware, our words have limitations The Word of God has total (100%) power. It really depends on whether our words are coming from the flesh....or from the Spirit. But let me add......Stop calling those you love "stupid" or ""idiot" or "whatever". Because they might just become that...thanks to your words. Words have power. Why do you think some on judgement day who claims to do this & that in Jesus' name are told to depart, I never knew you? Because words have power....and the name of Jesus has power! Yes even with fakes. MERCY!
Some of us thought in our youth......I'll be glad when I am 40 (older) cos then I won't have all this sin to struggle with. WRONG! As we get older and learn more....we also learn the bad along with it. Actually it gets tougher...and we must be stronger! Satan is after everyone until the day they die. You see, a child doesn't know that much - in fact - some even find it hard to lie. An example was when a 5 year old answered the phone and someone requested to speak to her mother. When the 5 year old told her mother who was calling, the mother said, "Tell him I am in the bathtub." So the 5 year old told the one on the line, "We don't have a bathtub, but my mom said to tell you she is in it!"
Hmm?!!
I should close out here and not push your time. Most of us are pretty busy these days. As you are dealing with those you love in your home (whether it be a teen, a spouse, a friend), many times we encounter problems, difficulties....and at times even have quarrels, disagreements, misunderstandings and at times sadly even fights. The flesh is in the home. All kinds of words can be exchanged. I would recommend anyone to study the Bible because knowledge from it gives many, many answers for everything. But also everyone should pray, and ask God to let the Holy Spirit respond through you. When these words come from the flesh, it usually is not the solution, and sometimes only makes things worse. If you speak the words that come from the Spirit, you will find (even in later years) that it makes a big difference in your relationships!
This life is full of troubles....and sometimes even chaos. There is only one way out of this mess...and that's what we are talking about. God has a lot to do this year (2012) in the churches & dealing with governments. But God is also going to fill many of His children with much wisdom even in the homes and the families this year! (Even in these dark times!)
"Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice."
