"Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready; for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Matthew 24:42-46
About 4 or 5 years ago, the late David Wilkerson had a dream, which was a warning about the coming of the Lord. David very seldom spoke of the "rapture", but he preached a sermon on this dream entitled, "Be Ye Ready is No Joking Matter." It was one of the best sermons I ever heard him preach. We shall all be changed in the twinkling of an eye. It is stepping out of time into eternity. What horror and terror it will be for those who had a knowledge of the grace of God, yet are not ready at his coming. But what about grace? The day of grace is about to end. A new world is coming.
Much of the church is fast asleep as the foolish virgins with no oil were, in Matthew 25. So how do you know if you are ready? Get your eyes on Jesus, focus on his purposes for your life, not the things of this world (Col. 3:1-3). Stay in the Word daily; seeking him, for how shall you escape if you neglect so great a salvation (Heb. 2:3). Settle every grudge, forgive those who have hurt you and don't be a smiter or unbeliever. If you really BELIEVE he's coming, it should reflect in your life.
A storm is coming! Stay out of debt. Don't go into debt, unless you are willing to lose it. Don't set your heart on the things of this world. One of these days all this is going to BURN.
Are you busy? That doesn't have to be a problem. Whether you are working, sitting in front of your computer, traveling, ect. - if you are in Christ and have an affection for him, your mind is on Christ.
God is sending his angels soon to gather the elect from the four winds. The coming of the Lord is drawing nigh. God means business. His word is no joking matter. He is coming as a thief in the night, and we are to be wide awake. Those who are not ready? Lord please convict them....prepare them.
"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself READY." Revelation 19:7
