I agree that 'moves of God' need to be tested. But here is the problem...how good is our flesh at 'testing'? What we do is try to look with our eyes and not with our hearts. See I know this Lakeland stuff made so much of a stink and you know... I am ok with that. Revival is what I make out of it. Not what others make of it. But the one thing I will say is it did bring about more revival in my life and God touched me where He needed to. Did it for all? I dont know and really dont care. In my mind it was never about others, it was only about what God was speeking to me and my responce to it. There are always prostitutes. I am not going to pay attention to them as if they determine my relationship with the Lord. I am not in a relationship with a prostitute. Know what I mean? The prostitute is irrelevant. Rahab brought about revival and she was a prostitute. Kind of goes against our thinking huh? See in this I am not talking about men here. Men are irrelevant. Its strickly about what God is saying. Sometimes we need to ignore the flesh just as Peter did when walking on water. We can be walking in the midst of a storm in the flesh and have a completely different experience than everyone else who is sitting around us in the exact same storm at the same time. The other 11 in the boat did not have an experience with the Lord that night as Peter did. They did not have revival. Why? Was it by their own choice? Were their hearts actually ready for it as Peter's was? I dont know everything here, but one thing is for sure, if you look at Peter's revival encounter that night in the presence of the Lord, he was less than 10% of the people (believers) who were sitting there that also could have had an experience with Him if they would have aplied more faith in seeking His face and not focus on the worries "does God really act this way" type of stuff. They were afraid. Peter decided to ditch the fear and go for Him even at the risk of losing his life. What was there to be lost? Only his flesh. Peter was a firstfruit that night wether we like it or not. He actually took a great risk if we look at it in the flesh. How many are willing to sacrifice the flesh and run full bore for our Lord even if we get mocked by others in the body or even have our 'holy' reputation ruined? Ive been tortured by those who are in the body while trying to run as Peter did. But I have no regrets as I have had many of those 'walking on water' experiences with my awesome Lord. I am not talking about answered prayers, I am talking about walking through the absolute impossible. Why should I let my worries of making a mistake stop or hold me back longer than it should have? Look, its always risky chasing our Lord. Its never safe according to the flesh. Never. If you are looking for a 'safe' experience that is in your comfort zone, are you really a die hard follower of Christ? Peter shows us exactly how it should be. If you make a mistake (mistake is not intentional), Jesus will pick up the pieces. Brothers, I probably look like a total jackass to my fellow brothers in the church, but one thing I can say is that I am not afraid to look like one if that is what it takes for me to encounter my risen Lord. We talk about 'revival' as if its what changes the world. We should be talking about revivals in how it changes 'me'. When we change 'me' we will then change the world without having to discuss how it should happen. We will be living it. We will be the flames of fire in walking revival while others are still 'talking' about it and sitting back in the dust of it while its actually occuring.
