I've sometimes wondered what makes the difference in people in the outcomes of their trials. We're all human in the same standards, but it seems that some will never give up on God in their trials as Job did, but some do give up on God as Job's wife did.

When David fell, he fell pretty hard, but he always ran back to God face down.
Ps.145:14-21 The Lord sustains all who fall And raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You, And You give them their food in due time. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him. He will also hear their cry and will save them. The Lord keeps all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.

This is great, I love it.

Talking about gloom and doom, I don't see it that way. The way things are right now is gloomy, but that is reality folks. Mankind is running towards sin and is going farther from God. What can God do but punish the ungodly for the filth that is committed against Him. Hopefully people will start running away from darkness and to God. His desire is for no one to perish.
In teaching s.s. class I've been accused also of being a bearer of bad news. But if you are found in Christ, there is no bad news. My boss the other day said that he now sees my view on God bringing judgement to us, and he is now praying that we'll be strippped of all the crap that pollutes our lives. People will not change without God removing these idols that we are prostituting ourselves to. When that moment comes people will have to make a decision who they are going to serve.
